Seventh International Conference on Asian Studies 2019

International Center for Research & Development, Sri Lanka and Unique Conferences Canada will host the Seventh International Conference on Asian Studies 2019 from 21-22 October 2019 at Hotel Himalaya in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Visiting Fellowships, ISEAS – Yusof Ishak Institute (Deadline June 14, 2019)

The Regional Social and Cultural Studies (RSCS) Programme and Indonesia Studies Programme (ISP) at the ISEAS-Yusof Ishak Institute (formerly Institute of Southeast Asian Studies) invite applications for the following Visiting Fellowships.

  • Visiting Fellow – Media, Technology and Society (6 months)
  • Visiting Fellow – Demographic Change (1 year)
  • Visiting Fellow – China and Mainland Southeast Asia (6 months)
  • Visiting Fellow – Decentralization and Indonesia (1 year)

Applicants should have a PhD degree in an area of the humanities or social sciences (especially political science/government, sociology, anthropology, demography, media studies, and science and technology studies). The successful applicant is expected to start no later than 2 January 2020 and must have completed all requirements for the PhD degree at the point of employment.

Fluency in English and at least one Southeast Asian language is preferred, along with good communications, networking and interpersonal skills. For position 4, fluency in Bahasa Indonesia is a must.

Applications should include a Cover Letter, a full CV, two Reference Letters, and a Research Plan (each plan should address the research question, methodology, timeline and expected output; 3 pages each, double-spaced).
